Wedding First Dance

Your first dance as a married couple is often one of the most memorable moments of your special day.

The most important aspect of a wedding dance is picking that special piece of music that you wish to dance to. From songs by Elvis Presley to ACDC, we can make sure that your dance is that special memory that will last a lifetime.

At Rubies Dance Centre we will give you bespoke choreography that suits you. Your teacher will work with you and your song choice to give you the best choreography possible, based on your abilities.

Laura and Matt Peters - Hampton 21/01/17

"My fiance and I recently completed the Beginners Latin and Ballroom course, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The teaching was excellent and the lessons were a lot of fun.

We will certainly be using Rubies Dance Centre for further lessons for the first dance at our wedding."

Barbara and Lee Payne - 11/07/16

"We wanted our wedding first dance to be special, and being both non-dancers, we needed help! We were recommended Rubies Dance Centre, and we are so happy that we made the decision to go with them.

From the first contact we made with Neil and Emily, it was evident that they are passionate about their profession. Neil listened to our chosen song and guided us through what was achievable. With us being novices, Neil was always patient and attentive to our needs, making us feel relaxed and focused, it was so clear to see that he loves his work.

You need to practice between lessons and not just for 5 minutes, and above all enjoy it. They made us feel like friends and through guidance became part of our special day in the results of our Dance.

You won't be disappointed with Rubies Dance Centre.

Thank you Neil and Emily"

Ronny and Kat Wagner - Egham, Surrey 13/07/14

"Kat came up with the dancing initiative because she was petrified of dancing on her own wedding. Ronny joined in because he was pushed by Kat.

And that’s how we met Neil. We started attending an evening course at a local College and were lucky enough to stumble upon the most patient (Ross) and the most talented (Neil) dance teachers. The beginnings were not easy. Although we never actually fell over or hurt ourselves in a bad way, bruised egos became part of our weekly routine. This was especially the case when it came to learning Samba and at least looking slightly dignified and not like people with severe disabilities. However with Neil’s constant encouragement, joking, relaxed attitude and professional approach we finished the course successfully and had mastered the basic steps of Social Foxtrot, Cha-Cha, Waltz and Rumba.

An added bonus of the course was meeting a nice bunch of people, watching the others progress and sharing a laugh and joke during the classes. When the official 10 weeks were over, almost everyone extended the class by a few more lessons. At this point, we continued our journey by attending private lessons with Neil, learning the routine for our big day. Now the pressure was really on since we couldn’t hide from Neil’s watchful eyes anymore.

Even though he has a way of making the lessons fun, he still pushes you to get the best out of you. On Neil’s advice, we picked a song that meant something to us and he created a routine to the song. Neil got us to focus on one thing at a time and gradually we managed to piece it all together. The dance became a routine that we were able to do without thinking. And although not perfect, we got more and more confident with every lesson.

It’s been our pleasure to learn to dance with Neil who is quite a character. He became more than our dancing teacher. He became a friend who we still meet with."
